How many ways to wear a ruffled top?

Since I wore this Blair-esque ensemble I've been stuck on how to wear this shirt. I love it, its beautiful but so dressed up for normal times and I dress up too much usually anyway! I tone it down with cut offs and a waistcoat, I also have a proper mens waistcoat(grey with a teal back) and i sometimes wear it with that and a trilby. Is it ok?
(Btw, braces came off! It felt weird, but now it feels o.k. I still hate wearing my retainer though.)

Outnet.

I don't know if you guys have been on the Outnet yet? It was mentioned in Teen Vogues Recessionista feature. Its basically an outlet of all the things Net-a-porter can't sell. I check it religously to see if any items I adore come in at a super reduced price. I have no money anyway but I still check!

Well if you do have money, march over there straight away! They've restocked with this new outlet store, 10 corso como, which do fabulous bargain things such as Prada, Christopher Kane etc..and the ew stock is g to the o to the r..geus..You get get the picture.

MY LIST

Did anyone see this on the first ep of the first series of Gok Wan's Fashion Fix and fall in love with it? Don't think its one for my figure though, and I'm pretty sure it would wash me out but I have some friends that are perfect for this!

Beautiful strapped Balenciaga's, You know how much I love les chaussure's!

I'm always keen to find a good pair of Marni's since the patent block colooured wedge/shoe season. These are adorable, perfect for summer lazy days but could easily take you through autumn and winter with a good pair of patterned tights or over the knee socks!

(psssstttt..have you heard Mr Henry Holland- My official most wanted GBF, closely followed by Gok himself, Various other desingers and Simon Amstall - is doing a range for the one and boring debenhams? IM THERE!)

Sorry day's.

parties,fun,day glo,nu rave
Yes I know I'm a crappy exscuse for a fashion blogger right now. And I can't even lie by saying I'm totally busy. I'm just erm..unispired? To say the least. I'm gonna try blog more regulary I promise!

^^Formalish Party I went too. I can't say it was formal just a party this community service project thing held at my church was telling us to dress up like. Appaling turnout, mainly just us gathering lot, and quite a few underage wannabe's and some really weird cynical physco named Jordan. Still there was pizza, a couple of games before the DJ just turned the music up and we just raved pretty damn hard. From there I took a lot of pictures and laughed and danced and then kind of blanked all the other wannabe's out. Complete with glowsticks.

I went to London Yesterday. I jit up Oxford Circus Topshop FOR THE FIRST TIME. No pictures, nothing bought but its utter mayhem in there.
Still I lusted over the Christopher Kane for Topshop Tee I wanted, but its not as good as I would have thought so I didn't get it. Oh and the Emma Cook for Topshop Wedges out are reallly as horrible as they look online! Oh Emma, you should have quit while you were ahead.

But square-cut or pear-shaped, these rocks don't lose their shape. Diamonds are a girls best friend!

I think every girl has a bone in there body that leaps for jewellery. There's just something about the delicate femininity of a bracelet hung on a wrist, a necklace draped across a chest, and so on.
There's so many variations nowadays all girls have so many things to choose from plastic to heavy metal chains, theres always a piece for whatever your personality.
But I honestly don't know a girl whose heart doesn't still want precious jewels, gold or silver, as a intricate final touch to their outfits. Even I with my crazy bracelet layering and silver chains around my neck, would still kill for diamonds.
Abazias is a online site I have fallen in love with. It provides discount jewellery, fashion jewellery, and maybe for that special person, engagement and wedding rings. They have a beautiful selction of items, which combines delicate feminity and personality within the pieces.
Not only for men, Abazias also do a selction of men's sungalsses and wedding bands also, so treat your fiance to a quality wedding ring, or your mate/dad/boyfriend/husband to a mighty fine pair of shades.
My favourites include

And so for us girls, Abazias do beautiful rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. It'll be well worth your directing your partner to this website and giving him a little nudge in the right direction to order you a little gift from there!
As our beloved Marilyn saysPhoto from fashionandphyschologyA kiss may be grand but it won't pay the rental
On your humble flat, or help you at the automat
Men grow cold as girls grow old
And we all lose our charms in the end
But square-cut or pear-shaped
These rocks don't lose their shape
Diamonds are a girl's best friend

...Tiffany's ... Cartier...
Talk to me, Harry Winston, tell me all about it!
There may come a time when a lass needs a lawyer
But diamonds are a girl's best friend

There may come a time when a hard-boiled employer
Thinks you're awful nice
But get that ice or else no dice
He's your guy when stocks are high
But beware when they start to descend
It's then that those louses go back to their spouses
Diamonds are a girl's best friend

I've heard of affairs that are strictly platonic
But diamonds are a girl's best friend

And I think affairs that you must keep laconic
Are better bets if little pets get big baggettes
Time rolls on and youth is gone
And you can't straighten up when you bend
But stiff back or stiff knees
You stand straight at Tiffany's

Toothpaste kisses and late night wishes divine.

I'm not all just incredibly 'im fabulous give me a present NOW', im a nice person. Please do not feel pressured to give me a gift.*said in a smallprint way*
Things I would like but I'm probably not gonna get.

1.Surprisingly, I've never had the 'Love that Boot' factor. Ever. Its only since the Emma Cook Topshop boots were released I've been on the mission to find a perfect lace up boot. These ones are amazing, I tried the shoe version on and their great, but these. Well they take your breath away. Like real FIERCE icandoanything shoes!Image from topshop.com

2. D&G L'impertance Perfume. It smells fruity, sumptuously delightful. I LOVE IT.

3.A guitar. You know to try and event parodies of Rap Songs like our favourite youtube stars. Not even a good one. Just something for twenty quid.
4. A laptop. I HOPEFULLY am getting one from mum and dad anyway :)! Hopefully the dell inspiron in passion purple. But anything beautiful and chic for a laptop really makes me swoooon.

ACCESSORIES

1. I really need a wide waist belt anyway for covering joins etc, and what could be more perfect that this chained studded BEAUTY? Its actually amazing.

2.I'm totally obsessed with layyered chains at the moment.

3.Ok, LETS GET THIS STRAIGHT. NOT ALL KIDS FROM ESSEX ARE CHAVS. NOT ALL OF US GIRLS ARE BIMBOS. NOT ALL OF US ARE SLUTS EITHER. ESSEX PRIDE AND I WILL SHOW IT BABY.
(all past accessory images from topshop.com.)

4.Cocktail Rings are my absolute favourite things right now! I prefer them non tacky, rather than plastic whatever just a simple design. BUT I am totally in love with any ring with any sort of animal on it. I just adore them! Take these ones from asos, amazing. Just imagine having that on your finger, its a statement within itself. (Friends reading this take note here!)

Other

1.I know a lot of people dont care when their sleeping, but some of the time I'd just like to wake up and feeel glamourous, like in those old black and white movies where the heroine wears the msot amazing nighties. I don't want something too avant garde, but something delicate and pretty yet still innocent like these pjs from new look would be perfect :)

2.The Collosal. Apparently best mascara ever. It looks good because instead of just making your lashes look pointy and spider leggery, it makes them look full and glamourous. Oh yeahh.
A pen liner would be very nice as well. For eyes I mean.Plus if anyones counting a brigth green, indigo purple and lilac nail polish. Moneys always good. Plus if you visit TK Max they have a panther buckle belt thats really amazing, and then some Calvain Klein Boxer Shorts :)

There you have it! A longgg and tedious wish list.
Just to mention the new website The Skinny (www.shoptheskinny.com), are offering aamazing anti-aging moisturizer from Bliss to a new member ($79 value)! Be sure to sign up to get this!

YES. I had a Hair Cut. I was getting bored of the full fringe, so now its assymetric. And HEAVILY Layered. My hair's now so thin I'm really not sure if I like it. And it means I have to straighten it religously. But hey. You can see my eyes now!

Things I need to say.

1. I love BBC's show Merlin. And more importantly, Arthur Pendragon in it.
2. Since it's been winter, I've actually committed a sin and worn my Ugg's to Asda a couple of times. Just so warmm..FORGIVE ME.
3. I should be getting the Dell Insipron 15 inch Laptop in Passion Purple for my birthday.
4. My birthdays like less than a month away. That means I can write my 'what I want' lists, hand them to my friends and even blog them.
5. We're going to TGI Fridays for my birthday. Best food ever. I'm not going to stupid Nando's like every other teenage fucker.
6. I don't get whats the big deal about Nando's. The salad was sick and the veggie options sounded gross. It takes forver to get inside and its REALLLY noisy.
7. I'm designing a dress made of recyclable items for some silly school event. I'm incred excited. I've appointed myself head of the team and what I say goes. Yeah I'll fly my bitch flag proudly.
8. Watch Harry Potter Puppet Pal's 'Snapes Diary' and 'the Vortex', so much funnier than a mysterious ticking noise.
9. I'm not sure whether changing my hair means changing my style to go with my hair.
10. Im pregnant.

Joke.

Lolita

Monday night, I noticed Film4 were showing the 1997 adaptation of Vladimir Nabokov's book 'Lolita'. Realising many bloggers have been inspired by the 1940's dress within the film, and that its an incredibly famous yet controversial book, I watched it.

Lolita is the name given by Humbert to his landladys (and later wife) daughter, Dolores Haze. He forms an infatuation with her, although he marries her mother. One summer whilst lolita is away at camp, Charlotte(the mother) reads Humberts diary, expressing his distaste for her and his lust for Lolita. She's appalled, walks out and accidently in front of a car. After her death, Humbert picks Lolita up from camp and they travel around the country, staying in various motels, pretending to be man and daughter, and maintaining a sexual and emotional relationship. After settling down, and then leaving again Lo becomes bored with Humbert, and after a night in hospital is kidnapped by Clare Quilty, a devious and more experience child lover. Three years later Lo writes to Huumbert, in desperate need for money and tells him about her kidnapper, and reveals she only ever truly loved Quilty, and not Humbert. Now she is pregant and happy, Humbert loves her more than ever, although she will not leave with him. He tracks down Quilty, and shoots him.

Humbert is a very vulnerable character, desperately seeking Lolita's love and affection to match his, yet she seems more occupied with other things and other people. It's another sad tale of cruel unrequited love, yet seen in a quite different portrayel.

Dominique Swain is dressed up in sets of a cropped top and skirt mainly, provocative in the crop, but the girly ruffels and the delicate colours keep the look innocent. Her hair, often in plaits either loose or pinned, and her crimson lips add to the slightly provocative yet innocent feel. In other words, she dresses impeccably.
Other plays on her innocent are her constant iddling of her retainer, her love of sweets and chewing gum, her gracious singing and dancing and that she kisses with not that one of a professional ability, but of one that seems to be just practising to get it right.

Amazing film, playful yet gripping, an perfect mix of corrupted innocence and vulnerability of a man in love. Lolita is a must see if you havn't already.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label.

Photobucket
Pictures from Style.com
I've been studying Westwood for the last few weeks, and needless to say I took a good look at her SS 10 Collection, and was pleasantly surprised. The Backdrop, obviously taking inspiration from her Nostalgia of Mud days, was a brillaint dark and gloomy counterpart to her light, fine and floral collection. We've seen a lot of the ' Reinvention of the Suit' across the catwalks, But Dame Viv blew it all out of the window and made herself responsible for the trend. Mixing in her classic draping, fun florals, pinstripes, pink pvc and I swear to God thats Lisa( The Lesbian) from the last series of Big Brother. I applaud you Mrs Westwood, I really do.

I know I haven't given much outift posts of late, but I haven't really been wearing anything that spectacular.

Anyway, ask me a question on the post below.
